Lifetime Storage Sheds - How good are they?

Lifetime storage sheds are constructed of a powder coated steel frame which is sandwiched between twin walls made of high density polyethylene (HDPE). This method of construction gives the sheds steel frame great durability, allowing the shed to stand for years with little to no care or maintenance. Lifetime sheds are durable, well made, and easy to care for.

The storage sheds range in size from 8' x 2.5' to 8' x 12.5'.

The storage buildings range in size from 11' x 3.5' to 11' x 13.5'. If you opt for a Lifetime storage building instead of a shed, you will be provided with extra large doors that are lockable, allowing you to protect your possessions.

Lifetime sheds have a relatively steeply pitched roof which encourages quick drainage when it rains or snows. The roofs come with a built in sky light as well as windows that are shatter-proof, this allows plenty of light into the shed so that you can easily find what you are looking for.

Some types of shed come with the flooring as an extra, with Lifetime shed the flooring is provided with the shed. The floors are made of the same HDPE material as the exterior, the flooring is resistant to oil and stains and is slip resistant, making it comfortable to walk and work on. With this robust heavy duty plastic floor it should not crack, peel or chip, this allows you to store your equipment without worrying about damage to the flooring.

The exterior is UV-protected, so you do not have to worry about the outside colors fading or the plastic cracking. They are also stain-resistant, saving you from having to re-paint. One of the big benefits of a Lifetime storage shed is their durability and requirement for lack of maintenance. You may need to give them a wash down with soapy water every few year however dependant on where you live. A shed that requires low maintenance gives you more time to enjoy your gardening or craft work and less time doing routine repairs.

Organising the interior

Customizing Lifetime storage sheds is quite easy as the company have developed storage systems which are compatible with each of their storage sheds and storage buildings. These storage systems are useful as in contrast to a traditional timber stud you can't just bash a nail into the framework if you want to hang up some tools. Peg boards are used to over come this difficulty so you can hang your smaller tools up and out of the way. Shelving units are perfect to store small items like flower pots, boxes for screws and nails, and other gardening items that will not hang up on the peg board. If you have bicycles, there are purpose designed bike racks so that you can hang up your bikes to keep them out of the way when they are not in use. The storage systems are of course an extra to the purchase price of the bare shed.

One of the things that I really like about these sheds is that it is possible to extend the length of the basic model, check beforehand though that this is possible for the model you buy! The extensions are added in the length direction and come in modules of 2.5 feet. The extension packs come with either plain walls or windows and can add anywhere from 2.5 to 36 feet to your building. Imagine what you could do with that much space!
