WATER|Shed is attempting to do three things:
- To foster a contemporary love of urban organic farming
- To Capture, Conserve and Utilize rainwater in a more environmentally conscious way
- To create a place for relaxation, a place to unwind and listen to the natural environment.

I truly appreciate this design concept which presents a fully living environment that delivers nurturing sounds and beauty in a harmonic way that only nature can offer. Shed Your Preconceptions

This project flips the valence of the very meaning of 'shed'. Shed1 - A rude structure built for shelter, storage, etc. Shed2 - To pour forth (water or other liquid) as a fountain. This, however, is no rude structure – its very elegance shows that it is no mere storage space, but rather a container, for water, sustainable daily practices, and healthy, fulfilled lifestyles. If this shed were a boat at sea, it would seem to make the sea around it. And yet, rooted to the ground, it does this very same thing. One can wax poetic about such a project, but perhaps it is more meaningful to say, that I wish I myself could live in such a beautiful place that encourages the production of personal, environmental and community health. Very nice work, Wayne!

A nice mix of creative, simple engineering and a good overall aesthetic. I love the idea of adding glamour to the shed, while still keeping its stereotypical use of garden work. I don't know if you heard, but backyard farming is SO in right now.

Ahhhhh... A "Man-Shed"...!!

I'm no farmer, so I'd leave the gardening to my wife. But I can certainly see myself sitting there in a comfortable lounge chair (built in as part of the design, if you would, please), with a good book and a fine Scotch whiskey (full bottle, please) for quite some time feeling the stress flow freely from my body as the water flows from the roof.
P.S. to my wife... no "poofy" stuff in the garden... root vegetables only, if you would, please.

Part zen garden part environmentally sustainable urban gardening -- this project is great -- I can imagine it in a suburban, urban or rural setting. Also, the materials imply that it can be completely locally sourced and also expanded in a modular fashion. Very intelligent use of the roof for channeling the water. Awesome.
