Len

(Colorado)

I am using rough cut, full thickness lumber for either horizontal lap siding or vertical board and batten siding on a shed. Cracks are likely to develop where the boards overlap.

Is there some relatively thin (1/16" to 1/8"?) and inexpensive sheeting material (not plastic and not housewrap) I can install first over the frame to prevent air flow and form a nice looking, finished inner surface? And make the shed walls secure from wind, mice, etc.?

Also, is there some material like this that would also serve as sheer/ surface bracing for the walls?

If these are unusual materials, where can I buy them?

Thanks, Len

alternative to tar paper?
by: Len

Hi
What I am looking for is a nice appearance for the inside of the shed. Not black tar paper, but something else. Saw some thin compressed cardboard one time on a shed inside wall, light in color. Does anyone know where to get that type of material?

You can get wife rolls at any building material store.
