In Our "Eco-shed Competition"

Competition Cancelled - 01-01-2009

Welcome to the second www.secrets-of-shed-building-shed.com competition. These competitions are great fun to enter (and I enjoy hosting them as well!). This time round the prize of a $50 Amazon voucher should enable you to purchase a couple of good shed books to get your ‘sheducation’ started.

The last competition had some great creative entries which sparked some insightful and entertaining discussion and comments. I reckon this one will too.

To start read this article on eco-sheds.

What is and is not ‘Eco-friendly’ can spark some strong differences of opinion! All buildings impact on the environment in some way, what factors do you think are important for a building to be considered 'Green'? As well as being eco-friendly the shed must also be comfortable and suitable for the purpose you intend to use it for.

Tell me the top three things that you consider most important for a shed to have minimum impact on the environment and why you think they are the most important.

The rules of the competition are here.

The competition starts on 28th November 2008 and will run until the end of January 2009.

On the 31st January I will choose what I consider to be the best ten entries. This will be on a variety of things, the best eco shed ideas, the idea provoking the best comments, the idea with the most comments etc. etc.

I will then open a poll for the following two weeks to let you decide the winner from these top ten.

Remember, only one vote per IP address, but feel free to get your friends, family, granny, grandpa, and Auntie Flo’ to vote from wherever they are. (I think this may have been a critical factor in the success of the Sanctuary Shed in the last contest!)

So, let the contest begin!

Eco Shed features that I adore  starstarstarstar
I am totally in with the idea of using recycled lumber when ever possible, and for an eco-shed, it's a perfect fit. Save the trees I say, even the ones ...

My Eco Friendly Shed  starstarstarstar
My Eco Shed was built out of need, my children had so many toys that my garage was overrun with them. I needed a shed that I could store their toys in,...

The Work Eco-Shed  Not rated yet
My Eco-shed would be very durable while still holding that "green" characteristic. I am quite rough with my equipment and need a durable shed.

The shed ...
